Monroe, MI – Monroe Environmental recently launched its new Welder/Fabricator Certification Program during a high school welding competition held at Monroe County Community College.

Developed specifically for high school seniors and young adults under the age of 25, the program provides a direct pathway into the welding profession by combining paid work experience, specialized education, and a long-term career opportunity. Participants earn college credits through a customized welding and fabrication curriculum while receiving free tuition and guaranteed employment throughout the program. Once they are certified, they will have a full-time job at Monroe Environmental.

The initiative reflects Monroe Environmental’s ongoing commitment to developing the next generation of skilled trades professionals and addressing the increasing demand for qualified welders and fabricators. Through partnerships with educational institutions and investment in hands-on training, Monroe Environmental continues to strengthen the local workforce while creating meaningful career opportunities for young adults entering the manufacturing industry.

How the Program Works

Eligibility

  • High school seniors may apply during their senior year.
  • Young adults under the age of 25 are also encouraged to apply.

Education and Training

  • Accepted participants will receive full tuition assistance to attend Monroe County Community College.
  • Students will complete a customized welding and fabrication curriculum designed specifically for careers in industrial manufacturing.

Work Experience

  • Participants will work at Monroe Environmental while attending classes at MCCC.
  • Students may begin working during the summer prior to their first semester and continue working throughout their college experience, gaining valuable hands-on training and real-world industry experience.

Career Opportunity

  • Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will be offered full-time employment with Monroe Environmental, including competitive wages and benefits.
