Monroe Environmental Supports Local High School Welding Program

Dated September 19, 2025

Monroe, MI – For several years, Monroe Environmental has supported the welding program at Ida Schools by donating scrap steel for student training and projects. The material allows students to gain hands-on experience with welding, plasma cutting, and other assignments, while also giving them the opportunity to create their own projects.

Monroe Environmental employee and master fabricator, Chad Bitz, also volunteers his time with the program. Recently, Welding Instructor David Morelli shared photos of student accomplishments and expressed his gratitude.

“Once again, I would like to thank Monroe Environmental for supporting Ida’s welding program. The donated steel Chad Bitz puts together for us is used in a variety of activities in all my welding classes. Your donation goes a long way in helping me provide a better learning experience for my students.”

In addition to supporting Ida High School, Monroe Environmental regularly invests in the skilled trades across Monroe County. The company partners with Monroe County Community College (MCCC) to provide apprenticeships and has even welcomed program graduates into full-time roles.
