A new Aluminum Mill was designing its wastewater treatment plant and called upon Monroe Environmental for several clarifiers and sludge pumps that were critical to the process. Monroe worked closely with the plant’s consulting and design engineering team to refine the specifications and tailor a solution that would be best for the mill. The systems were provided to clarify various chemical process streams containing heavy metals as well as also cooling tower filter backwash.

Monroe provided the following equipment:

• 12’ diameter Circular Thickener on legs (60 GPM rating)
• 30’ diameter Circular Thickener on legs (400 GPM rating)
• Vertical Plate Clarifier with integral Sludge Thickener (600 GPM rating)
• Sludge pump skids for each clarifier with redundant AOD pumps
• PLC Control Panels for each clarifier and pump skid
• Start-up and commissioning

The systems were successfully installed and commissioned, allowing the plant to get up and running smoothly and on schedule.
