Grit Separators

The Monroe Environmental Grit Separator is a screening device used to remove solids from wastewater. A mechanical conveyor/scraper system continually removes the collected solids from the separator for deposit to the customer storage hopper for disposal.

Taper bars or wedge shaped wires are arranged in parallel to form small slots to filter the solids. The shape of the slots is designed to prevent plugging. Stainless steel or mild steel construction is typically used.

The Monroe Grit Separator can be a low cost solution to solids separation from wastewater compared to gravity type separators. High flow rates are possible in a relatively small footprint.

The Monroe Grit Separators are used for industrial or municipal wastewater applications.
